WHY AINSLIE
The Ainslie Football Club (AFC) is a proud and successful north Canberra based club with a long history – through its rich sporting tradition the Club has played a key role in the Canberra community since 1927.
The Club’s vision is to strive to ‘be the Club where people want to be’, a place where each person, whether player, parent, coach, staff, supporter or sponsor, aspires to join our pursuit of excellence, unity and success.
We are the pre-eminent footy Club in the ACT competition fielding teams in every available grade in both Senior (9 competitions), Junior Football (13 age groups) while also running Auskick programs.
In the Junior space we employ strong values of Fun, Participation, Sportsmanship, Skill Development and Community. The continued growth of our Junior Football Program, and particularly the growth in girls footy, indicates that we are doing something right.
In the Senior space the Club’s strategy is focused on delivering consistent and sustainable performances which will provide opportunities for premiership success whilst adhering to our values and culture. This has seen the Club achieve a total of 28 Men’s First Grade and 1 Women’s First Grade Premierships, including 6 consecutive Men’s First Grade Premierships (1992-1997), since its inception.
Ainslie’s success is largely due to the Club’s strong core values and a commitment that extends both on and off the field. That success has been built on the work of many individuals who have led and supported the Club and nurtured the broader AFL competition in Canberra since 1927 and we thank each and every one of them.
