Stafford Cooper steps up to take on the Ainslie Women’s Program
Ainslie Football Club is thrilled to announce its new Senior Women’s Head Coach, Stafford Cooper. Cooper is stepping up from a successful 2-year stint with Ainslie’s Women’s Rising Stars team, that yielded 2 premierships for the club during that time.
Cooper shares his excitement to lead the women’s program following its incredible growth under the leadership of Britt Tully;
“Ainslie’s support of women’s AFL in Canberra is second to none, and to be given the opportunity to lead the ongoing development of the women’s program is a challenge I am very excited about.”
Playing over 250 senior games for AFL Canberra and WAFL clubs, and as a 2016 AFL Canberra Hall of Fame inductee, and 1998 Mulrooney Medallist, Cooper brings a wealth of knowledge to the coaching role and more broadly the Ainslie Women’s football program.
Ainslie Football Club Director, Greg Bishop says;
“Staf brings a wealth of football knowledge with him as a player and coach … we believe our women’s program is already strong and will only improve with Staf’s influence.”
With pre-season just around the corner, the Tricolours are looking to keep on building.
Ainslie Football Club are grateful to Stafford’s family, wife Bindi, and Daughters, Ella and Mia, for their ongoing support and commitment to football.
