Received life membership in 1935.

Starting off his career at Ainslie, Albert was initially brought on as the club’s secretary and would implement a 5 year plan focusing on the development of the Ainslie Junior League, the Junior’s had already started playing but the aim was for the Junior players to stick with the club and develop into pro players. The plan paid off with 10 of the 1936 championship team being former junior players. Following on from his time at Ainslie, Alfred decided to move on to other work including national football administration and serving as the chairman of the umpires board.
