Received life membership in 2024.

Aldo originated from Victoria and played his early football in the VFL, at Springvale Football Club and Mazenod College.  

A standout talent saw Aldo sign with St Kilda Football Club in 1990, where he played five AFL games up until 1992 and also earning the Reserve Grade Best & Fairest in 1992. 

In 1993 Aldo moved to the ACT, joining the Ainslie Football Club where his strong performances for a different set of Red, White and Black jerseys saw him drafted to the Sydney Swans with pick 16 of the 1993 mid-season draft. Representing the Swans twice that year, Dipetta would travel between Canberra and Sydney to train – demonstrating his continued commitment to Ainslie. 

Between 1993 – 2001, Aldo played 129 First Grade Games for the Ainslie Tricolours and was appointed Captain by the legendary Kevin “Cowboy” Neale during this golden era for Ainslie. A solid midfielder, an in and under player who notably built a formidable partnership with Ainslie legend Reece Langan, a partnership that would consistently tear up opposition midfields. 

After retiring in 2001, Aldo would additionally serve on the Social Club Board in 2006. As described by Jason Burgess; Life Membership reflects Aldo’s selflessness, dedication and tag as the ultimate team man.
