Recieved life membership in 1997.

Andrew bishop started playing with Ainslie in 1980 for the under 15s team, he began his senior gameplay in 1984 and retired in 1997 with 206 first grade games played. Andrew was a part of 8 first grade teams, his first of which was in 1987, his performance establishing himself as he was drafted to play for the then Brisbane Bears, the following year he was drafted for the Sydney swans but despite playing reserve grade for them he was unable to make the senior team for either club.

Returning to Canberra Andrew kicked back into gear with Ainslie, and in 1990 participated in his 2nd premiership. Following on from that he would then be a part of 6 consecutive premiership teams from 1992 -1997.

After his time as a player, Andrew would continue to be involved in the game coaching and recruiting for various teams. The capstone to his football career was an induction into the AFL Canberra Hall of Fame in 2018
