Received life membership in 2004.
Ainslie FC Board member for nine years and a stint as Senior Vice President, Brett has what can only be described as a very successful career as a part of Ainslie. Commencing as an Ainslie junior in the U9’s he went on to win five junior Best & Fairest including ACT U16 player of the year.
Brett played in six Senior Premierships, two under Kevin “Cowboy’’ Neale and was the only Ainslie junior to Captain/Coach a senior premiership in 1990. A testament to the level of respect he held within the club, Brett was appointed Ainslie senior Captain/Coach from 1989 to1991.
His career spanned 178 senior games, 21 ACT Representative games and was appointed ACT Captain Coach 1991 which went on to win the NSW Championships. Brett was also winner of the First Grade B&F Award, the Hibberson Cup, in 1980.
In the mid 80’s Brett spent 3 years at Central Districts FC in the SANFL and was appointed Captain in his 2nd year playing 45 SANFL games.
As a result of Brett’s contribution to the game and the incredible responsibility he took as a Captain/Coach of Ainslie, he was awarded Life Membership to the Ainslie FC in 2004 and also inducted into AFL Canberra Hall of Fame in 2014.
