Ainslie welcome back Darcy Paine to coach the Community Men’s alongside Ed Marshall!

Ainslie Football Club are excited to announce the reappointment of Men’s Community Division 1 Coach, Ed Marshall, as well as the return of long-time Ainslie clubman, Darcy Paine to coach the Men’s Community Division 2 squad.

The Community Football program prioritizes enjoyment and comradery and provides an opportunity for players to stay involved in footy, whilst affording incredible depth to our men’s program.

Darcy Paine is an Ainslie Junior, playing over 200 games for the club from 2005 – 2020 and earning two Community Division 1 B&Fs (2015 & 2018) and two B&F Runners-Up (2016 & 2017).

Ed Marshall has played a pivotal role in fostering the Community Men’s program at Ainslie and has been at the club for over 20 years. Going into his fourth year coaching this group, Ed said that he is:

“Really excited to see some returning faces to link up with some of the emerging talent. Really hopeful of striding further forward in 2025”

Season 2025 will see some more familiar faces return in 2010 Ainslie Fourth Grade Best Clubman, George Craig. After playing over 60 games for the club between 2011 – 2020, George will be coming into the coaching group in an assistant role. In addition, 2013 Ainslie Third Grade Most Improved, Fraser Cloney, will also be stepping up to support the program this year.

Rounding out our Community Men’s program, well-known and loved Ainslie figure Glenn ‘Browny’ Brown will continue as Team Manager of the Community Men. Browny has been involved with the club for over 20 years, managing 14 Teams and 6 Premierships including the four-in-a-row 1st Grade Premiership run (2016 – 19).

Our Community Men’s squad will commence pre-season training on February 4th at Reid Oval.
