Received life membership in 1990.
David played all of his Junior footy with Ainslie commencing in 1954. He was a member of many Premiership and Championship teams during that time. His entry to the senior ranks saw him represent the ACT at the Under 19 Level in 1967 then he went onto play 99 Reserve Grade games and 26 First Grade games between then and 1973.
Taking a break from the game he returned to Ainslie in 1980 to Coach the under 19’s team for five years, taking them to 3 grand finals and winning two of them in 1982 and 1983. 1985 saw David returning for a brief 2 games in the Reserve Grade, but in 1986 he would reach the position of Senior Vice President for the Club, and in 1988-1990 David served as the Club’s President after which he served on the Social Club Board for a further period of period of 26 years.
