Britt Tully announces step back from coaching, though is eager to see Ainslie Women continue to grow.

Ainslie Football Club announces the departure of our highly respected Women’s First Grade Coach, Britt Tully, who has decided to take a step down from coaching after an incredible journey with the club;

“I have loved my time here and have enjoyed being able to shape the women’s program to what it is today… I know the program will keep growing and Ainslie will continue to be a force to be reckoned with.”

Britt joined Ainslie in 2019 playing 47 club games and has since made a significant impact on our football community. Her leadership and dedication culminated in a historic victory in 2023 when she led the Women’s First Grade team to their second Premiership, and first since 2001. That same year, she welcomed a new addition to her family, showcasing her remarkable ability to balance both personal and professional commitments.

During Britt’s time at Ainslie, we have seen the women’s team increase from two teams to three, currently having 120 registered women’s players. Britt’s coaching style has been influenced during the time she spent in the AFLW playing for GWS, posting an impressive career as a playing winning four Bainrot Medals.

In 2021, Britt was recognised as First Grade Coach of the Year by AFL Canberra, a testament to her exceptional coaching abilities and her commitment to the development of the sport. In 2024, she continued her contributions to the broader football community by serving as Women’s Representative Coach, further cementing her legacy as one of the top coaches in the region.

We are deeply grateful for the passion, expertise, and dedication Britt has brought to Ainslie over the past five years. While we will miss her presence on the sidelines, we wish her all the best in her future endeavours and look forward to seeing her continued contributions to the sport.

Britt Tully reflects on her time at Ainslie stating;

“I have had massive help the whole time at Ainslie especially and would not have been able to do it without- Simon holt, Chris Tully, Zoe Skyrianos, Fiona Van De Mede, Allyson Flynn and many more that I have probably forgotten.”

A special thank you to Britt’s Wife Liz, and extended family for their ongoing support to Britt in contributing to the club.

The Ainslie Football Club has commenced recruitment for a Senior Women’s Coach for 2025.
