Received life membership in 1958.

Involved in the operations of the club off and on for many years, George’s name reaches across 4 decades of Australian Football. Starting as a junior player in 1947, George continued to play until 1954, from there he would start out as a team manager in 1951; that year also saw George take a mortgage out on his house to secure a bank loan which was used to finance the club room at the AFC. Returning to an official position at the club in 1957 as an assistant secretary, from there he would join the club Committee in 1956 and remained there until 1961. The 60’s saw George’s rise in the CANFL( Canberra Australian National Football League, one of the previous league names of AFL Canberra) , starting off as a secretary in 1962 and 1963, Vice President for 1964-1966 and Senior Vice President in 1967. Returning in 1971 to re-join the Ainslie Football Club Committee. In 1979 he would become the honorary secretary until 1982 and become the official secretary in 1983, returning to the Committee in 1984.
