Greg has been a prominent figure at Ainslie as a player, coach and administrator. Greg’s first involvement at Ainslie began in the 1980s as a junior, where he first began crafting love for his football and Ainslie. he would then eventually go on to represent Ainslie 108 times in First Grade. Throughout his playing days, Greg played predominantly as a back and a sure highlight of his career was playing in the 1992 First Grade Grand Final alongside his brother Andrew, where Ainslie were victorious in holding off Queanbeyan by 10 points in a tight affair.

Greg’s involvement with Ainslie continued beyond his playing career where he has contributed to the club in both coaching and administrative roles. Serving as a club director of Ainslie since 2023, Greg has played a key role in the governance and running of the club in his current tenure. With his wealth of football knowledge from his playing days, Greg has also been involved in the coaching of Ainslie junior and rising stars programs alongside his kids Issac, Joe and Ellie, whereby he was recognised as one AFL NSW/ACT Coaches of the Year in 2015.

Outside of Ainslie, Greg owns his own family air conditioning business working alongside son Issac. Bishop Air Conditioning were also generous club sponsors of Ainslie for numerous years.

The Bishop name has been associated with Ainslie across generations and Greg’s contributions and induction as a Life Member, further represents the proud family association the Bishops have had with Ainslie.
