Received life membership in 1999.
Before playing for Ainslie, Jim was an RAF Aircraftman in the Second World War, enlisting in May 1944 and Discharged in September 1945. He would join Ainslie in 1946 and, being one of the tallest amongst the team he was often put into the ruck. A very capable player even in his first year he left a mark at the club, being recruited for the Canberra Representative team in 1946, 47, 48, 50, 53, and 54. Jim retired from play in 1954 with a solid 132 First Grade Games under his belt.
