Football Clubs with longstanding history and success are built around volunteers such as James – a long time supporter and volunteer with Ainslie. James served on the AFC Board in 1992 and 1993, In 1993 he was responsible for Social/Fundraising work, and from early 1990s volunteered as the gatekeeper at O’Connor and Ainslie Oval until around 2004. James would also offer his services as a time keeper for Reserves from 2005, as well as the First Grade time keeper from 2012.
Life Membership for James was awarded in the Club’s 90th year where he was fittingly the recipient of the 90th AFC Life Membership. James personifies that Football on the weekends can’t happen without the work of many behind the scenes.
