Received life membership in 2008.
Starting off his career with success in 1987 at Ainslie where he voted the Best First Year Player in First Grade – an early sign of the future successes to come for Mark. Mark would go on to stuck it out into the new millennium, hanging up his boots in 2000 with a decorated career of 161 First Grade Games and 34 Reserve Grade games. This was a greatly successful period for club, where Ainslie were regarded widely as the benchmark for many other teams – Mark was involved in Six First Grade Premierships and Two Second Grade Premierships. Mark greatly contributed to Ainslie’s success and was a noted consistent player on the field, always finding the two middle sticks; totaling 177 over his career. This consistency was recongised by the club and his peers, where Mark was awarded First Grade’s Most Consistent in 1990.
Coming the conclusion of Mark’s playing days, he began his off field work for Ainslie as apart of the Football Committee in 1999, with two stints over a seven year period and was also was apart of the Ainslie Football & Social Club Board for five years. Life Membership for Mark recongises his role in bringing success as apart of Ainslie’s dominance during the 80s and 90s, and his continued support for the club for many years, contributing to making Ainslie Football possible for the next players of the new millennium.
