Matthew contributed to the club as an official in various roles, starting off as a committee member in 1936 to 1937, he would then be the clubs treasurer from 1938 to 1941. Unfortunately there are little records of him the next few years but he is seen back on the committee in 1953 and then vice president in 1955,60-64. While not a long time player for the club, only playing one year in 1929, Matthew was still connected to this club for nearly 30 years.
