Received life membership in 2024.
One of the first generation of Ainslie Women players, Meredith has played over 170 games for the club during her time here. Meredith has represented the ACT twice, finished runner up to the B&F Award twice, and has had the honour of being the namesake for the Division 1 Player’s Player award. A powerhouse on the field, Meredith was a constant thorn in the oppositions side; never letting any kick go un-contested, making sure any score that got past her was earned.
A force to be reckoned with on the field, she was just as kind and energetic off the field, never one to let a bad game get the best of them she could always be seen smiling and keeping the team together. The team and its development was a focus for Meredith, her fellow players recalls nights on the town where, instead of meeting boys, she would be walking up to girls and trying to induct them into the game. This was still in the early days of the Women’s league, the desire to build that community and team was integral making the Women’s program at Ainslie as successful as it is now.
Life Membership acknowledges not only Meredith’s skill on the field but her passion and positve energy around the club, especially in laying the foundations for where Women’s program is today.
