Recieved life membership in 1931.
Tom Gillard was a part of Ainslie right from the start, being the clubs first treasurer in 1928, in 1931 he would become one of the two first life members alongside Alf Sutton in 1931. Mr. Gillard would serve in various other titles around the club before becoming President in 1938. He would step down to Vice-President in 1939 and would leave the club before 1940.
Mr Gillard was a busy man, engaging himself in various projects across Ainslie. Aside from his work here at Ainslie Football Club, he also served in the Ainslie Tennis and Cricket Clubs. He and his partner had one of the four Ainslie school houses named after them due to their influence in the early Parents and Citizens association at the school. He was said to have been referred to as the “Father of Ainslie” given all the work he put into the various parts of Ainslie community.
