Tony Ielasi is a highly respected member of the Ainslie Football Club whose outstanding playing career and unwavering commitment have earned him Life Membership. A dependable back pocket specialist, Tony played 169 senior games across more than a decade, building a reputation as one of the club’s most reliable defenders by consistently shutting down the opposition’s most dangerous small forwards.
Tony was a key contributor during one of the most successful eras in Ainslie’s history, celebrating six premierships: four First Grade premierships (1979, 1980, 1982 and 1984), a Second Grade premiership in 1987 and an Under 19 premiership. He was also recognised as the club’s Most Improved Player in 1980.
Admired for his selfless approach, loyalty and dedication to his teammates, coaches and the club, Tony’s influence extended well beyond the field. His contribution to Ainslie’s proud history makes him a thoroughly deserving recipient of Life Membership.
