It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Tim McKay.
Tim passed away on 8th of March 2026 from a heart attack on his ride back to Canberra from Collector. Tim was a key member of the Ainslie Football Club community, coaching the U11 Reds (including his son Zaden) in 2019, and was also the Reds assistant coach in 2016 & 2017. Tim was a caring guy who gave a lot of time, support and encouragement to all kids in his coaching roles. Tim will be remembered by many for his perennial happy disposition and optimism.
In tribute to Tim, the Ainslie Under 18 Men wore black armbands during their opening match against the Belconnen Magpies on Friday 10th April. Many of those players were coached by Tim during their junior years at the club.
