Received life membership in 2005.
Wayne Kelty started his long association with Ainslie as a junior, before he would go on to represent several senior sides in the 80s. Wayne had the honour to represent Ainslie in First Grade nine times, but forged a name for himself in the Ainslie reserves, totaling 180 Second Grade games for Ainslie where he was a noted prolific goal scorer up front. He lead the goals tally in the Second Grade seasons seven times kicking over 90 goals in three of those seasons and was a key player in Ainslie Second Grade Premiership teams in 1987 and 1992.
After his playing days in the late 90s and early 2000s, Wayne came back to coach Second Grade sides after a short stint away with the Kingston Wolves. As a coach he won Second Grade Premierships in 1999 and 2001 before moving up to an assistant coach role in First Grade in 2002 and 2003, before returning again in 2013 to assist under Chris Rourke during Ainslie’s years of dominance.
Life Membership for Wayne recognises his goal consistency over many years as a prolific goal scorer and beyond his playing days the wealth of his football knowledge that was immense in the development of Ainslie players coming through under his ranks – to continue sustained success for Ainslie.
