Wayne Rogers started off his Ainslie career playing for the juniors in the under 17s and under 19s before being picked for the First Grade Team in his first senior season. Starting off in 1982 as an under 17s player, Wayne continue to play up until 1997, playing 109 First Grade games and 21 in the Second Grade team, this is also on top of a brief stint in the Northern Territory during 1988 where he played for the Saint Marys AFL team. Though despite the distance he still made the time to play on the ACT representative team for that year as he was an often sought player for the ACT team during his career.
After retiring from play in 1997 Wayne continued to help out around the club, serving on the committee from 2004, and becoming the Vice President in 2007. He would retire from both positions in 2009.
