Received life membership in 2009.

Lyndon is simply considered one of the great contributors to Ainslie for many years upon his arrival to the club in 1996, assisting in all aspects in the running of the club. Lyndon was originally from Adelaide but became involved with the Ainslie Football Club when his oldest son, Ian began playing with the U11s. Lyndon took on several voluntary roles with the Juniors and joined the Committee in the late 90s through to 2006. Lyndon would contuine to maintain his support of the club in non-official capacities for years to come.

A quiet achiever and the backbone of Ainslie for over two decades untill his passing in 2018, Lyndon filled in wherever needed – administration, match days setup, presentation nights, AGMs, annual reports. A noted club historian or sometimes even referred to as the “Keeper of Knowledge”, he was always the go-to-guy if an Ainslie photo or historical facts were ever needed.

Some of his notable club publications included: the History of the AFC juniors book which captured the history of the AFC Juniors up until 2009, and in 2007 he was instrumental in putting together a book – ‘A Capital achievement’ which was launched at the AFC 80 year celebrations.

Before Lyndon passed away, it was found by his son Jeremy, that he had been working on another book titlted the “Chris Rourke Years” , a tribute to one of Ainslie’s most sucessful coaches. During the COVID lockdown in 2020, Jeremy would end up finishing in the book in his fathers honour and the book served as a representation of the great friendship struck up between Lyndon and Chris, despite being noted as polar opposites by many around the club.

Lyndon was awarded life membership in 2009 and in honour of his work with club records and countless other roles. The AFC Memorabilia collection would also be named after him in 2017.
